After months of delays, and then two weeks of pre-trial motions and jury selection, opening statements in the State of Washington vs. Malcolm Fraser were finally made on Thursday, April 18.

Naturally, the Prosecutor has already blocked the jury from examining all the evidence in the case - like the importance of 0.01%. However, this fact was put on the public record during pre-trial motions and reported by Enumclaw.com, so we can now share it.

Which One is Bad?

Published on March 24, 2013 at 5:30pm
Hussein still can’t believe how amazingly God has stepped into his life at so many points. “If I ever die and I am before Christ,” he said, “I will never have any excuses that He was never with me. Look how many doors He opened for me! This is why I want to serve, because I know Christ is with me. I learned that it is not what I would want in a situation but what He wants, because that is so much better.”

A VOM worker asked Hussein how he is preparing himself for the next time he’s called on to suffer for Christ’s sake.

“I think one of two things will happen,” he said calmly. “They will either kill me or there will be another miraculous event like this.”

Then he looked right at our worker, his dark eyes glowing.

God's Providence and Care

Published on March 24, 2013 at 5:19pm
Walk in the view of God’s providence and care over thee.

When God bids Abraham be upright, he strengthens his faith on him, ‘I am God Almighty, walk before me and be thou perfect;’ as if he had said, ‘Act thou for me, and I will take care for thee.’

When once we begin to call his care into question towards us, then will our sincerity falter in our walking before him. Hypocrisy lies hid in distrust and jealousy, as in its cause. If the soul dare not rely on God, it cannot be long true to God. Abraham was jealous of Abimelech, therefore he dissembled with him. Thus do we with God. We doubt God’s care, and then live by our wit, and carve for ourselves.

‘Up, make us gods,’ they say, ‘we know not what is become of Moses.’ The unbelieving Jews, flat against the command of God, keep manna while [i.e. until] the morrow, Ex. 16:19. And why? but because they had not faith to trust him for another meal. This is the old weapon the devil hath ever used to beat the Christian out of his sincerity with.

‘Curse God and die,’ said Satan to Job by his wife. Thou hast lain thus long in an afflicted state, besieged close with sorrows on every hand, and no news to this day comes from heaven of any care that God takes for thee; therefore ‘curse God, and die.’

We see, therefore, of what importance it is to strengthen our faith on the care and providence of God, for our provision and protection, which is the cause why God hath made such abundant provision to shut all doubting and fear of this out of the hearts of his people. The promises are so fitly placed, that as safe harbors, upon what coast soever we are sailing—condition we are in—if any storm arise at sea, or enemy chase us, we may put into some one or other of them, and be safe; though this one were enough to serve our turn, could we find no more: ‘For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them,’ or strongly to hold with them, ‘whose heart is perfect toward him,’ II Chronicles 16:9.

Do Just One Thing

Published on March 17, 2013 at 7:00am
"The important thing is always to have one aim, and to pursue it in stormy and fair weather. Jesus wants our eyes to be single. The Hebrew language did not have the word "intention." Jesus, using these words, meant that our intention should be single: to be the highest we can be, and then not to worry any more. Man always does what he is; he reacts to outward circumstances according to his character.

The Romans had a proverb: quod agis agi (do what you do), do just one thing. Most of us, when we are praying, think of the pancake on the fire which might burn. While making pancakes, we think how nice it would be to pass our time in prayer. While speaking with one man, we think how useful it would be to pass our time with another. We never do anything well. Only one thing can be done well at a time. Those who participate in too many sports never become champions.

Our earthly life is short. Let us not be like the ass in the story who, having two heaps of hay before him, died of hunger, not knowing which to choose. But let us concentrate upon our single aim: to develop a heavenly character, which by contagion will fill God's heaven with men. Amen."

We'll Find The Christian And Kill Him

Published on March 17, 2013 at 6:00am
"We are in much grief and pain that Christians have no safety or freedom in this Islamic country," says Pastor Shahzad Babar with Gospel of Christ Ministries in Pakistan, in a letter recently sent to Christian Freedom International.

"On Saturday, March 9 a mob of 4,000 angry Muslims in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore attacked a Christian neighborhood and set fire to homes, after hearing accusations that a Christian man blasphemed against Islam's prophet," Pastor Babar's letter continues. "Police arrested Sawan Masih, a sanitary worker, on Friday night, although the incident actually happened on Wednesday evening. Sawan went to the Islamic barber for a haircut, but the store owner refused to serve him. A heated discussion arose between the two, and the Muslim reportedly used offensive words about Christianity. A policeman said that the arrest was made when Masih's barber friend complained that Masih had made blasphemous remarks about Prophet Mohammed.

"According to the details, over 100 houses and 35 shops were completely destroyed in the wake of the incident. And Christian residents, including women and children, hastily fled to save themselves, leaving behind their houses and possessions unprotected. The mob looted, stoned, doused in acid, and then burned the Christian houses, shops, and other items, including furniture, crockery, auto rickshaws, bicycles and motorbikes, clothes, beds, blankets, and also Bibles belonging to Christian families. The local imam: "We'll find the Christian and kill him."

Tackling Each Immediate Evil

Published on March 3, 2013 at 1:02pm
"I have received no assurance that anything we can do will eradicate suffering. I think the best results are obtained by people who work quietly away at limited objectives, such as the abolition of the slave trade, or prison reform, or factory acts, or tuberculosis, not by those who think they can achieve universal justice, or health, or peace. I think the art of life consists in tackling each immediate evil as well as we can."

Blasphemy Charge Dismissed

Published on March 3, 2013 at 1:00pm
February 20 (World Watch Monitor) — A Pakistan court last month surprised all involved when it dismissed charges of blasphemy against a Christian man accused of insulting Islam.

The Jan. 28 ruling by a trial court in Punjab province surprised defendant Barkat Masih, his attorney and religious-rights advocates. It came two months after a different judge threw out similar charges against a teen-aged girl that drew worldwide criticism of Pakistan's anti-blasphemy laws.

Masih was arrested in October 2011 on the basis of a complaint filed by two men who accused him of insulting the prophet Muhammad. After one judge balked at taking up the case, a second stepped in and ordered a police investigation of the charge. Police found evidence that the accusers were attempting to wrest property away from Masih, and prosecutors could provide no evidence to support the blasphemy charge. The judge then threw out the case and set Masih free.

"This is a remarkable case in which a trial court judge has released a person charged with blasphemy," said Masih's lawyer, Allah Rakha. "In my several years of legal practice I have never seen a trial judge showing guts in such a sensitive matter."

Peter Jacob, of the National Commission for Justice and Peace, told World Watch Monitor, "...it's quite clear that the complainants wanted to grab his property therefore they charged him with an allegation few people in Pakistan dare to question. The government and judiciary should review all blasphemy cases because most of those accused are victims of jealousy and prejudice."

Killed By Words

Published on February 5, 2013 at 11:00am
As Editorial Director at Winepress Publishing Carla Williams knew the power of words. As a Pastor's wife and Christian she knew the spiritual implications of an ill-framed word.

The Bible teaches that God made us in His image and that He created the universe by the power of His Word. For this reason, Jesus warns everyone, including myself, that He will judge each of us for our careless words (Matthew 12:36).

How much greater that judgment when we use words to destroy and for our own agendas.

While the science confirms “that an acute and sudden psychological stress might influence MPBT [tumor] appearance,” most everyone understands that words can kill.

“The tongue has the power of life and death...” (Proverbs 18:21)

With great sharpness, careful aim, and deadly skill the fatal hissy fit has been thrown.

They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their words like deadly arrows. (Psalm 64:3)

In short, the slanderous words and betrayals of the past year have mortally wounded Carla. She has been diagnosed with a level 4 cancerous brain tumor (Glioblastoma multiforme).

All testify that Carla loves deeply in Jesus, making her vulnerable to the cruelty of sin. Her love was directly struck at and made to appear evil while betrayal was labored at on various levels. The careless words, deafening silence, and unholy toleration of Jezebels have taken their toll.

Many watched Carla’s soul and body wrench as hardened sinners hurled deadly arrows of hate-filled words and destructive actions directly at her. None, yet, have denied that the actions were evil but many have applauded the destructive attempts while a lukewarm church looked on with token words of concern.

Doctors have made it perfectly clear that none of Carla’s past health issues contributed to this sudden, rapid brain tumor. The simple truth is that the bitter fruit of callous and malicious words will soon cause the death of my wife, Carla Williams, to whom I have been joyfully married for over 38 years.

Some would have wished it were under the rubble of a destroyed business and a wrecked church, leaving Carla without any worldly comforts...for her own good, of course. Such darkened souls will have to content themselves with her death for now.

In typical abusive fashion, the perpetrators of this hatred range from self-righteous cops and unethical prosecutors, to unrepentant sinners who sit in pews and insult the forgiveness of Jesus. Remember, not all hypocrites attend church and each will pay for their degree of guilt from the hand of a holy God unless they repent (John 19:11).

Like the wife-beater who demands the bruised wife apologize for complaining about the pain, so too foolish sinners demand that, without repentance, Carla forgive her abusers for slapping her (2 Corinthians 11:20). That the world, and some in the church, prefer the criminal Barabbas to Jesus is to be expected, but woe to those who cast such a vote (John 18:40).

If anyone truly desires the forgiveness of God for their actions or for what an unholy toleration allowed others to do, then repentance is the only way to obtain it—at least according to Jesus Christ. Forgiveness and mercy belong to those who are crucified, die, are buried, and resurrected with Jesus—true repentance by the grace of God (2 Corinthians 7:11).

It is not a surprise Carla is dying because of wicked words, nor is it shocking that forgiveness can only be had by beginning with repentance. The same God who commanded the church to not even eat with a so-called "Christian" who is a swindler or false witness, is the same Jesus who said to only accept your brother's forgiveness if he or she repents. The rebuking has been done this past year; it is now each person’s turn to choose their road.

So watch yourselves. "If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. (Luke 17:3)

If fact, Jesus went further stating that if they will not repent to treat them like pagans or tax collectors.

If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector. (Matthew 18:17)

I personally want to thank all of you who actively stood by Carla and showed her the love of Jesus. Such is the fire of God; it causes the dross to be removed as new found gold is treasured.

Carla welcomes all the prayers of the faithful in Jesus who obey unto His love (Acts 5:32). She eagerly desires to fellowship, as best her strength allows, with those who wish to do so in holiness. For now her tears are that she will not share in her grand-children growing up in the love of Jesus.

Godly Sorrow

Published on January 22, 2013 at 9:15pm
From the sermon:

"A lot of people, when you discuss the Bible doctrines or you look at things, want to know if it’s a salvation issue. As if somehow there are certain things that aren’t salvation issues.

What we’re looking at today is a salvation issue because it is the issue of salvation. We’re going to be talking about godly sorrow. And everything depends upon us understanding clearly what godly sorrow is and whether or not we have godly sorrow in our life.

A man reaps what he sows. If he sows an incomplete repentance then his forgiveness is also incomplete. It is of the utmost importance that each of us know how we are to repent in Jesus Christ in order to have His forgiveness. It is very important that we know whether somebody is repenting before us with godly sorrow or not, otherwise we might play the false prophet and tell them they are forgiven when they’re not forgiven."
