The first church, in the New Testament, was accused of being a "sect" or "cult." Why? Because it lived, operated, and insisted on a love from God that others could not, or would not, understand.

Today, the word "cult" is still used to incite fear and condemnation by those who have no better understanding, or no desire to understand. They wield it in the same way that people used to accuse their neighbors of being a "witch" - for no other reason than dislike, injured pride, personal gain, or mob-mentality.

But don't let fear-mongering scare you away from the truth.
