Sound Doctrine Church

Sound Doctrine Church upholds and lives the following foundational truths.

• Love, empowered by the Holy Spirit, for God and man is the most important matter and the essential goal in Jesus Christ. Everything else at Sound Doctrine Church has its foundation in Christ upon this.
  (1 Corinthians 13:1-13, Luke 1:17, Matthew 10:34, John 13:35)
• The Bible is the inspired Word of God and only through the Holy Spirit may we understand it.
  (2 Timothy 3:16, Luke 24:45)
• Only through the blood of Jesus shed on the cross can mercy be freely given by God to worthless sinners. Jesus paid the price of punishment for our sins.
  (Acts 4:12, Romans 3:12)
• The concept of Trinity, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, with each being separate yet fully God is supported in Scripture.
  (Deuteronomy 6:4, 1 Corinthians 8:5-6, John 14:9, Ephesians 4:30, 2 Corinthians 3:17)
• Leadership can, is and should be held accountable by the power of the Holy Spirit.
  (1 Timothy 5:20, 1 John 1:7)
• Only those who hate their lives, deny themselves and pick up their cross to follow Jesus are Christians.

• No spiritual insanity is allowed. We do not preach miracles or hermeneutics, but Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

• We believe in and practice Biblical church discipline.

• We are not the only true Christians or church.

• By faith, salvation and obedience are given. Salvation is a free gift from God and obedience must be surrendered to by way of the cross.

• There is a heaven and a hell. Jesus was crucified, rose from the dead, and will soon return.

• Spiritual gifts, as practiced according to Scripture, are still legitimate and active in the church today. However, we thoroughly oppose the abuse and mockery of these gifts.

• We uphold that marriage and the Biblical concept of family should be honored by all. Husbands, wives, parents, and children, should love one another according to the pattern provided by God.

• All sexual immorality is sin. The only acceptable sexual relations are between husband and wife, as God originally made them.
